Herbalife – Bull and Bear Cases in Charts

The Herbalife (HLF) story is a gift that keeps on giving. If 2013’s wild ride en route to a more than 200% gain wasn’t enough, it looks like we might not be finished yet. I’m giving a quick review of both upside and downside cases for this one. Read on: Bull Case Here’s a look […]

Is Amazon A Value Play?

WSJ – The shift to online shopping has already turned Amazon into a behemoth, and is often cited as a factor in the decline of traditional stores.

Bitcoin’s Latest Drama

Bloomberg – Mt. Gox, which had the largest market share of all digital currency exchanges as recently as April 2013, went offline yesterday, after halting customer withdrawals on Feb. 7. A document posted on the Internet that appeared to be an internal strategy document said Mt. Gox had lost 744,408 Bitcoins — about $390 million — as […]

New Name, New Look

Traderchild.com is finally back, only now under a new name – CentricFringe. This is still a site dedicated to market commentary and trading opinion at its core. But I’m also planning on writing pieces that extend to broad business and political topics. CentricFringe won’t be easily categorized. And that’s how I like it. Hell, don’t […]

Stay Posted

I’ve been hammering out the kinks of a new trading strategy for the past week, and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s got a high probability setup that actually sees a fair amount of entry signals. I’ll be posting more on the markets and my personal account next week. I’ll also be giving an update […]

Long EUR/USD at 1.36196

Just as I was looking at the 15 minute charts, thinking price would continue to trade in a tight range, we got a big jump and my buy order was hit. I’m waiting for at least a shorter term breakout so I can move my S/L to B/E, but I’m in this for the long […]

Despite the volatility, much of the market is essentially on hold right now. Should the shutdown continue into next […]

Stopped Out: EUR/USD

I got whipsawed out of the trade overnight with a small loss. As with the GBP/USD pair, I’m still expecting a continuation in the uptrend. I’ll get back in when price swings back up. Stopped out of EUR/USD at 1.359, -24 pips

Long EUR/USD at 1.36024

President of the ECB Draghi’s comments sparked the fundamental speculation needed to put the pair past it’s technical barriers. A big breakthrough today could be just the start of a long term move. Long 2,500 units of EUR/USD at 1.36024, S/L at 1.3590

Stopped Out: USD/CHF

Price made big move to the downside, taking out my stop loss. I’m going to hold off on getting back in until a breakout occurs on a longer time frame. Stopped out of USD/CHF at 0.90187, -50 pips
